Conductor Wiecher Mandemaker

Wiecher Mandemaker, born in 1969, received his first organ lessons by Wim van der Panne upon which he started his Organ Studies at the Rotterdam Conservatoire. He was taught by Arie J. Keyzer and Ben van Oosten. In 1993, Wiecher graduated as Teacher in Music and in 1995 as Performing Musician. In the same year he also obtained the Diploma in Choir Direction (Barend Schuurman). In 1997, he obtained a degree as Musician Choir Direction.

In 1999, Wiecher graduated in Church Music.

Wiecher participated in a Master Class Choral Direction led by Uwe Gronostay and in 2000 he participated in the first Kurt Thomas Master Class in Utrecht, followed by the Eric Ericson Master Class in Haarlem in 2001. From 2001 2002 he was assistant-conductor of the Groot Omroepkoor in Hilversum.

Since 2005, Wiecher is Artistic Director and Conductor of the Laurenscantorij, the Laurens-Bach orchestra and the Laurens Collegium Rotterdam in Rotterdam. In addition, Wiecher is Principal Lecturer Choir Direction at the Rotterdam Conservatoire in Rotterdam and, when applicable, conductor of the Rotterdam Conservatoire Chamber Choir.
